Cleaning Tips This guide is intended to help you clean your jewelry at home. However, the cleaning mixture that we describe should not be used to clean soft or fragile stones such as pearls, opals, tanzanite, emeralds, turquoise, amber, etc. 1. Fill a small bowl 3/4 full with Windex. 2. Add some ammonia. 3. Heat the mixture in your microwave for about a minute. 4. Carefully remove the bowl. Put it on the counter. 5. Scrub your jewelry with the solution using a soft toothbrush. 6. Make sure you scrub under the stone, if possible. 7. Soak the jewelry in the warm mixture for a few minutes. 8. Scrub again to remove remaining deposits. 9. Rinse jewelry with warm water. 10. Dry jewelry using a Bounty paper towel. 11. Saran wrap the bowl with the mixture for future use. This is to only be done with jewelry where the gems are secure in their settings and the gems themselves can handle this type of cleaning. If you have questions, feel free to ask before cleaning any of your pieces. |
